Electric Submersible Pumps
Rotoliptic pumping technology is robust and therefore immensely diverse in its applicability. Strong solids handling and efficiency are key, desirable pump traits for a variety of industries. Marked excitement for improving these very features in the oil and gas industry has preliminarily concentrated Rotoliptic’s initial target market efforts.
Electronic submersible pumps (ESP) provide lift within a well to bring submerged oil to the surface. Well conditions are harsh. Electric motors, powering ESPs, are subject to high temperatures and multiphase (gaseous entrainment) conditions that lead to an average service lifetime of less than 2 years. Rotoliptic’s technology can bring relief to these motors, which are the limiting technologies of the system, and can hugely benefit lifespan of the entire ESP system.
Rotoliptic’s target is a pump that has dramatically reduced energy consumption rates. The high efficiency of a Rotoliptic pump reduces amperage in its drive motor and reduces exponential heat buildup; leading to a much longer service life. Without the use of rubber stators, the Rotoliptic pump is both high temperature suitable and multiphase compliant, enabling use in many ESP applications.
